Integrating a Vision-Impaired Rooster into the Flock

We recently rescued a rooster (from a coyote) and since none of our neighbors have claimed him, he's still with us. He appears to be blind in one eye (the eye is clouded over), and the pupil in the other eye is really small, which leads me to think the vision is impaired in that eye as well. I feel bad for the poor guy and would like to keep him instead of giving him away.

My question is, what's the best way to care for him and integrate him into the flock? When I introduced him to the run with the other chickens this evening, 4 of my other males tried to fight him at separate times. I knew he would be vulnerable so I was there to separate them, but it was still disconcerting that this poor guy had to go through so many challengers.

How can I integrate him into the flock with the least pain on his part?
