I'm new to turkey keeping with three 10 week old Narragansetts. I'd like to add a couple more and wonder if I should expect the same issues integrating new turkeys and I do when I integrate new chickens. I know about quarranting new birds but after that, what should I expect?

We quartentine any new birds that we bring in no matter where they come from. When you put them together they will scuffle/fight setting up the pecking order but after that they should do fine. Ours settle it themselves with us making sure no major damage is being done.

Whenever possible when we are mixing new birds with old birds the best way we have found is to put them all in a new area for a few days.
If we try moving new turkeys into an existing pen the ones that were there have already established that as THEIR territory. If it is new to
everyone we don't have that problem near as much. After they get used to each other we move them all again to where they're going to stay.

And yes Turkeys are addicting.

I recently put 5 Black Spanish hens that are 7 months old in with 2 hens and a tom that are 20 months old. I basically had no problems. The 5 came from a pen that was on my property also.

I hear you Mary,
My DW is constantly bugging to get Pheasants... I keep saying Spring... Spring....
I just can't keep up with her addiction... lol
I can hardly keep up with my addiction.........
