I have been hatching small batches of birds out of my flock this year, now down to 4 birds, to replenish my numbers. One batch that has been out of the brooder for a month (6 Birds) and another (10 Birds) that is about ready to start living outside next week. I would like to merge both batches at this point and put them into my larger coop, swapping my older birds into my smaller coop. With these young bobs I would like to assume that they would not be particularly territorial both sets going into a new space... Any one have any thoughts or insight on a successful merging of each clutch?

It is not that difficult to mix young bobwhites. It is only when they are of breeding age are they really aggressive toward each other. But just to be on the safe side, I would put the new ones on the other side of the pen behind wire, hardware cloth will do, for about a week. Just in case. When you do release them together, keep a close eye on them that day and the following few days. But I don't think you will have much aggression at their ages. Good luck!
