Just wanted to share my enthusiasm with folks who would care. I got my 4 10-week old pullets integrated in with the 3 'big girls'

It's so nice to only have one flock to take care of! I had the chick temporary run next to the regular run for many weeks, so they could get accustomed, then let the chicks into the regular run one afternoon while the girls were out free ranging, then yesterday just put the chicks in with the girls while passing out the table scraps for the day. A little bit of pecking order establishment, but really nothing major at all. The little ones didn't want to go into the coop for the night, had to slip them one by one since they tried to escape if I even left a crack open, but when I checked back in later the BR was settled down right among the big girls (& I thought she'd be the most timid!) This is gonna make it much easier

I had the same good luck integrating my two flocks and it does make life a lot easier. Congrats on your success.

This is next on my list of things to do, get my batch of 7 week babies to the coop with the 9 week olds!!

That's good news! We have five 5-week-old girls, and already I'm wanting more!! LOL! Figure if I can keep these girls alive through the winter, then maybe I'll add two or three more next spring! You give me hope!

they even put themselves to bed in the coop on their own tonight... I think they must be smart chickens
