My family and I are in the process of moving from the city suburbs to some land outside the hustle and bustle of society. I was raised for many years on somewhat of a hobby farm but I've lost touch with much of the knowledge I acquired. We will be in transition for the next 6 months to year moving to another suburb further from the city until we find a home appropriate for us and are ideas. I would love to start some backyard chickens and a garden while we are looking for property but I have no idea where to start or what the laws are :( I'm in Ottawa Ontario moving to Arnprior Ontario in the winter. I would love to connect with more people interested in growing an raising their own food!

If you'd like to find out about local chicken laws and ordinances have a look through the Laws section of the Learning Center and if you don't see your town/area there ask in the Local Chicken Laws & Ordinances forum section.
