Interesting egg today

I went out to check on my chickens, I collected 10 eggs. This was one of them.

As you can see, it has kind of a speckled look to it. I’ve never seen an egg like this. Every egg I collected has one solid color, this one appears to have two. Shades of dark and light.

Here’s another normal colored egg I found today for reference.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not concerned. I’m just curious to know what other people think of this egg, because I’ve never seen one like this before.

What do you all think? Is it interesting?

I've seen them.
Try candling to see if it's porous.
How old is the bird(if you know who laid it)?

I do not know who laid it, but I know that the chickens are all 24 weeks and five days old.

Let me try candling it.

OK, I just got done candling it. I don’t know what you mean by “porous“ but when I candled it I could see a lot of black spots on the shell. This is obviously the speckled part that I was referring to earlier.

It’s definitely a pattern on the shell, not a calcium deposit.

So how long have they been laying?
I'd not worry about it, it's not really a concerning abnormality.
I have had a couple birds over the years lay eggs like that.

I get that pattern of speckling sometimes from my dark egg layers. The one below is from a Marans that normally lays a smoother uniform brown. Pretty!
