I am in the process of re-homing my 3 extra roosters. There is one hen that all 4 boys want to mate, and do so multiple, and I mean multiple times a day. The poor hen runs like crazy to get away from them, but she is so fat and they are faster than her.

Can a hen be internally damaged from over mating? She is my favorite, a red sex link and I'm looking forward to lots of eggs from her.

There really isn't much internal business to chickens mating. It's a bit more complicated than them just touching vents, but not much. The biggest issue people have is loss of feathers on the back of the hen from too many willing roosters or even just one willing rooster with not enough hens to even things out. They tend to look a little rough when all that attention gets lavished on one hen. But, internally I think there should be no issues no matter how many times or how many roosters are mating her. But, hopefully there will be some other responses and you can get a second and third opinion, lol!

Not too likely internal damage.. You will notice a lot of external damage first.. feathers ripped off the back, feathers off the back of the head.. and worse of all, spur rakes down the back..

separate those roos from that hen.

Thanks for the replies. Fortunately they don't have spurs yet as they are between 17 and 18 weeks old, but I am trying to get them new homes pronto!

She hasn't lost enough feathers to be thin in any place, either. I think she's just tired and frightened and I don't blame her!

I'm glad to know there is not going to be internal damage. I hope these boys are gone in the next 2-3 days.
