They haven’t externally pipped. I can still here them chirping. That’s nearly 24 hours. Will they run out of oxygen or will they be ok?They should be, check if you can hear pips of movment. If not poke a tiny hole in the end with an air sack just in case
Wait for the full 24 hours and maybe a bit longer. Then get a small pin or toothpick and poke a small hole in thr air sack end of the eggThey haven’t externally pipped. I can still here them chirping. That’s nearly 24 hours. Will they run out of oxygen or will they be ok?
Yes, it can be very stressful. I have had the same thing happen before. Make sure the temp and humidity are stable and just wait. The one that has externally piped should hatch and the one with a safty hole might be delayed. If it still hasnt made any progress after 48 hours you can assist it with hatching but very carefully and slowly. One fella externally pipped at lunchtime today. Bashed off part of his shell. The membrane was white, now tinged brownish. The other wee guy we made a safety hole in about 2 pm. No progress. Both chirping away. But reduced in the one with the safety hole. This is stressful. Any advice
