I have no expierience in this, Ive always let my girls do the incubating if I decide to let them have goslings, but I do know it can take a day or two for goslings to hatch. I hope that helps.

i wish our girls would hatch their own babies but they must get bored lol.

i know it takes a while i did read it should be 24 hours from internal to external pip then another 24or so to zip. im just worried this guy is sp quiet.

I unfortunately have some experience in assisted hatches. In fact, I have to assist 3 ducklings today. Damn incubators.....but that is another thread.

My advise is since you made a safety hole and you know the baby is still alive, make sure humidity is up (-70-80%) and wait. Most times an assisted hatch is not needed on the day the babies are due. Now, a day to three days past due date you wanna start helping.

You can slowly chip away at the shell with a pair of tweezers on the AIR SAC end. If you see goo and blood STOP. That is often signs its a little early to come out

Oh update he hatched!! All by himself. I am very surprised actually. Unfortunately I was so anxious I helped another guy who would've been just fine on his own but I thought he was unzipping and stopped, so I chipped some already zipped shell away and panicked thinking he was shrink wrapped. I saw veins tho and put coconut oil on the membrane and put him back into the incubator overnight. This morning he still wasn't out and the other guy who was behind him had hatched so I helped him out all the way. He had absorbed his yolk all the way but when he came out I did see there was quite a bit of blood still in the veins in the membranes. He is now being very slow to recover from hatching. I am so upset with myself for not just letting him alone!! He would've been fine. Although his head was not under his wing I don't know if that's normal.
