I’m on the Front Range of Colorado and wondering is April 30 to early to put my chicks in their coop, 1st 6 were born 2/7/23 Black Jersey Giant, 2 Cuckoo Marans, 3 Easter Eggers, 2nd 3 were born 2/15/23, Black Jersey Giant, Chocolate Orpington, French Black Copper Marans, so they will be all be about 10 to 11 weeks old. Some are camera shy, lol

Way past ready.
My first group 1-24 was put out 2-24. Wanted to wait because we were still having nights in the single digits or they would if been out a few days earlier.
If the coop is ready, aim for April 1.
The run is done. We’re starting the coop this weekend have to have it done before May 1 have company coming and need the chicks out of the house.

You guys have had worse weather than we have down in southern CO but our temps have still be cold, water outside freezes most nights. I have to have them out of the house by May 1 having company.

You should be able to get them out much sooner. If your run is secure, you can just place a crate, box, doghouse... to give them a covered place to huddle together at night and generate enough body heat to weather night time temps.

Your Percheron chicks are getting really big, LOL. I had and believe I still have family in that area. You just never know with the Hebert‘s.

I put ours out @ 8 wks only because I wanted feathered out as the nights get down to low to mid 20s and still provided them with heat source.
