Hi there from western WA. I recently (2 weeks ago) moved to a new house with acreage. I am now the proud owner/caregiver to 3 beautiful ladies. I am learning a bit as I go I am afraid. So far things are going well. My girls free range during the day and are locked up at night. There is alot of contruction and noise here currently and my girls are so curious, that they are doing themselves injury trying to see everything while the workmen are here during the day if left in their run. So after one of them rubbed off her breast feathers by running back and forth along the fencing of the run, I have let them free range. They wander over and watch everything and run around the parked trucks. It is really funny. After all the construction guys leave, the girls head back to their coop for the evening. It has been a real adventure. Anyway, I still have alot to learn. Just found an old garden shed that needs to be moved for the new addition, so I think I will convert it into a larger coop for my girls. I would really like to get a few more girls next spring and will be needing more room for that.
