Hard to follow directions for this site. Hope I can use it! I am a novice chicken raiser in Arkansas Ozarks and have an old GQF 1200 incubator I use to replenish my free range chickens and guinea fowl that are lost to hawks, owls, foxes, bobcats, stray dogs and accidents. I have limited space for chickens so I keep my numbers down. At present, I have a chicken flock of 4 Buff Orpington pullets and a cock, plus 25 2 to 4 week old chicks I just hatched for replacement. ( and one hen just hatched 3 baby chicks she will likely lose, but I let her keep them. She is a good momma.) I also picked up some Wyandotte chicks cause I think they are a beautiful bird... 3 silver laced and 3 gold laced pullets, and 3 blue laced red I hope are pullets. I don't keep cocks with my hens cause they keep them looking so bad by pulling all the feathers from their back! Also have a flock of 30 (more or less) guineas that I feed and shelter and other than that, they are on their own! I have at present 200 guinea eggs in incubator due to start hatching in 10 days, one tray per week! Hope I can sell most of them cause I sure as hell can't afford to feed them! :)
Not to mention the danged yearling deer that feeds in my chicken house all the time. Thinks she lives there! Came up today and stood at the door waiting for me to get out of the way so she could feed.....
