Hello, all!
My name is Erin and I just purchased some pekin ducklings! I'm new to the website as well, so I hope to learn some more here from all you guys!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have owned chickens in the past (same with turkey poults), but I'm here because I have ducklings arriving the week of May the 11th.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
None, but I'm getting two pekin ducks.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Penkins!
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I'm just going to assume you mean ducks for the rest of this post since, as you know, I am just going to be owning ducklings. But I really cannot wait to watch the animal grow to an adult.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Equestrian activities, art and music.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm 17, my 18th birthday is in November, and I currently live with my mother, father, two younger sisters and dog (Lacy). My dream job is to be a band director or storm chaser! Right now, due to Covid-19, I have no job. : (
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I was originally researching ducks and came across this website! Seems like a friendly and smart place, so why not join? : )
