Hello folks, my name is Linda.
I’ve had chickens off and on since 1972. Had a small flock in San Jose Ca way back when. I now have 8. One buff Orpington, two Buttercups, a black Wyandotte, and a silly Ameracauna these are my new girls. Plus an unknown rooster who is supposed to be a Maran. Then I have my two old ladies who are barred rocks, they are 3 yo now. I’ve been a member since 2017 but never did an intro.
I live on 5 acres with my chickens, two dogs, Duke the Aussie and Jordan the German shorthair. Plus two stray kitties Tuesday and Benny.
I’m a retired Sjsu biology technician now living in central Ca foothills. Life was bliss until the pandemic, fires and the stifling smoke that now hangs in the air.
I love my chickens they’re pets. The youngsters aren’t laying yet but they should start soon. They’re 23 wks now????? I think putting the rooster in with them has got them confused and busy staying away from him.
