Intro.

:welcome

Hi, I've always felt having a flock was way more than just eggs and fertilizer...there's a beauty to birds and a lot of enjoyment derived just from watching them. Best wishes to you, glad to have you here!

I tried to post last night... are chickens afraid of fireworks? We went across the street for a better view, so if they squawked I didn't hear them. But we found our dog hiding in the shower when we got home!
Oh your poor dog! Dogs sure do get traumatized with the sound of fireworks. :(

Chickens don't seem to care one bit. I was in my coop doing head count when fireworks were going off and none of my birds seemed to care. Even the 9 day old chicks under their mother were quiet.
Now my Doberman on the other hand was having a melt down. Even with her Thundershirt on. The Min Pin was bouncing around having a grand time trying to play with her.

Awe, poor baby! It must be dog's super sonic hearing. I was inside my daughter's bedroom, (which is near the coop) and heard bangs that sounded like things bumping into the coop. The wind was blowing the trees a little bit. But I went outside and decided the noise was nearby fireworks. And you are right, the chicks didn't make a peep!
