Introduce yourself- Megan M Murillo- I’m a Chicken Mom from SE New Mexico

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes; July 9, 2023.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 10 plus 20 eggs that Karen is sitting on right now.

(3) What breeds do you have?Barred Rock, Cornish Cross, Partridge Bantam, Black Silkie Bantam and Micro Polish Bantam.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Everything, especially their benefits to helping people who live with Mental Health live healthier and happier lives without medication.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Spiritual healing and diy.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I’m 40 years old Chicken Mom from SE New Mexico. My 23 year old son lives with me with my grandbaby KookieZ(she is an 3 year old Adult Female Miniature Wirehaired Tri-Merle Double Dappler Dachshund)plus my Barred Rock Rooster/Hen named Willow Jade and Karen Ruth, my 4 week old Cornish Cross Broiler chicks named Sunnie and Cher(not sure if all 8 of my chicks are pullets or cockrels yet), my 4 week old Partridge Cochin Bantam chicks named Pippa, Piper, Oaklee and Dottee, my 4 week old Black Silkie Bantam chick named Virgil and my 4 week old Micro Polish Bantam chick named Maebelle. We all live under one roof together and have the most interesting conversations amongst one another as I’m starting to become fluent in speaking Chicken, lol🐓🐔🐤

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? Google; Y’all have been a great influence on helping me find answers to some issues that I’ve experienced as a first time chicken owner.

Hi, Megan and Co.! I'm in SE Missouri now but spent about a third of my life in NW NM, so I'm kind of a former neighbor of yours! :frow Welcome to the wonderful world of chickening! And to paraphrase Sir Winston Churchill, you're right, the outside of a chicken is good for the inside of a human. Only ... he was talking about horses. :oops:
