Hi there....I have 12 Prod. RIR hens and they are a yearish old. I also have 3 girls (1 yr. old) that I need to add to my coop and run. The 3 have been with me in a quarantine pen for 30 days and then have been in a small coop and run about 5 feet away from my other run for 2 weeks now (I was not able to integrate right away due to being away). They can see each other and have noticed when everybody is around.
I have read all the threads on introducing chicks and am wondering if it works the same for hens?? I have a small-ish dog crate that can go in the run with them during the day. Just wondering about how long to have them in crate and how to let them out. At bedtime, after bedtime or just open the door??
Any info or thoughts would be appreciated.
