We currently have 20 standard laying hens with 1 EE rooster. Someone local has a 6 month old pair of EEs that I'd love to add, but I'm a bit worried about the rooster interaction. Is it a bad idea to try to add a 2nd, practically adult, rooster? Here are the birds in question...
The coop is 8x16, and the run is a big L shape roughly 75x15 in the long part and 30x15 in the short part, some of which is taken up by the coop. We also free range whenever we're not having bobcat predation issues.
Any concerns or suggestions?
Oh, we'll also be adding a few more hens within a month or 2, but they're still in the grow-out pens at the moment.
