Hi all, I've had my chickens now for over a year and I'm potentially looking at expanding my flock. I'd love to introduce 2 Peking bantams or buff sussex bantams as I think they are adorable. I have 2 Faverolles who will be no problem as they are both very gentle. My main concern however is my Queen Bee Caramel who is a Buff Sussex. She is a lovely looking bird and not vicious to the others but she was very aggressive when getting the pecking order established with the other 2. My plan would be to put a small run within the run I already have so they can all see each other for a few weeks and then try a steady integration. Has anyone got any experience of this? I don't want to upset the balance I have but I would love to add to the flock, I've added a few pictures of the girls and the run. Any help or experience would be greatly welcomed.

It can be done. You won't know until you try. I had a bantam in with my large fowl for a while and she didn't get picked on any more then any other.

This is a late post, but it might help someone else down the road. I have mixed bantam breeds into my flock with never an issue. In fact my little bantam hen is one of the bossiest in the bunch. I even had a bantam rooster who didn't seem to mind that my hens were bigger than he was. I had to re home him however, because he started attacking my young kids when they would go into the chicken yard. As far as mixing breeds, I happen to think variety is the spice of life.
