Ok I will give a bit of the back story. Got a Hen w/ day old chicks that were left behind when a family moved. I put them in a very large dog crate and then put it in my chicken coop. They are about 3-4 days old right now and the mom (don't know what breed but I think she is a standard) and 9 chicks seem to be doing well. How should I put her out with my flock. She is new and I worry about my rooster and hens getting her or the baby chicks. I have a section of pasture that is cornered off and I can put her there. But my 2 month old chicks may be able to sneak in there.

Here is my current flock:
8 standard hens
1 Bantam Roo
3 2 month chicks
5 7 week chicks
4 6 week chicks.

Thoughts advice please??

Just wanted to update that the mommy broody took the babies out into the general population after 3 days. She is protective something fierce and the hens and juveniles keep a good 10 foot space between them. No diseases or other problems either

Great! Thanks for the update. That's the way it's supposed to work!
