Something broke into my coop and took 4 of my 5 hens. My strongest girl is left all alone now.
I have 5 three week old chicks that I planned to add to the flock in a few weeks. I have a separate coop up against the enclosure for the 'get to know you' period.
But now I'm worried. How will this new development affect my plans? The hen who escaped the attack was the head hen of the flock. She managed to have not one single scratch on her from the attack.
I'm not sure if I should move up my timeline, assuming the weather is amenable, or if I should now expect my lone hen to become more aggressive toward the newcomers.

I have re introduced a flock to an older bird who survived a night time attack that left her last man standing. I waited to introduce a new batch in. I think that she may be fine to introduce sooner, my time line was dependent on me needing to hatch out a new batch of chickens. When they were 4 weeks I introduced the flock to her and they all got along... until the rooster in the flock started to crow!
