I am fairly new to raising chickens. I have four Silky hens who are absolutely adorable and loving. A Bantam hen and a mean, nasty Bantam rooster. They were all raised together. They would all sit on my lap and come running to me. Until the rooster turned on me, I'm lucky he's little. The rooster just decided one day he was going to turn on me and only me. My husband approaches and he runs into the coop! It's quite funny. Nobody has ever abused these chickens. They are spoiled rotten, given fresh herbs and veggies several times a week. I still love my chickens but don't really like the rooster. I have been gaining so much information from this site and truly appreciate all the information.
