I have two english bulldogs and I get my ducklings next week. Does anyone have any advice on introducing them. When they are little they won't have access to the ducklings without me being there but I would like before the ducks start living outside for the dogs to be comfortable with them. Thanks!

I Would start by putting the ducks in a wire dog crate to keep them safe. Then bring one dog at a time over , let them sniff, but gently correct if show too much interest or excitement in the ducks. Do this every day until dogs ignore the ducks. Then closely supervised time with ducks out of crate (possibly dog in crate with ducks running around) do this with just one dog at a time. Eventually the dogs will figure out the ducks are now part of the family :)

Brachsideducks, I have an Akita/Husky mix, and he was definitely way too interested in my ducklings. Because of the way I train (without physical or verbal corrections) I decided to write out my process for others who wished to do the same. I suggest manipulating it to fit you and your dog, because what worked for me may not work for you. But here is the process written out:

At the bottom of the post, I also added a link to another trainer's post on Crittering, which is basically the same thing.
