Introducing full grown rooster

We have too many roosters and would like to give one to a friend who has new chicks. Will the rooster harm the chicks, since they are not his and there are no full grown hens to protect them?

IMHO I would wait till the chicks grew into laying age this way the roo can have his way with them and no harm will come to him or the chicks. besides the friend may have a roo in his chicks.

She says all of her chicks are hens, so I don't think we'll have other roos to contend with.
