Introducing just one?

Hi everyone! We found out one of the birds we were really looking forward to is a cockerel. We want to replace him with a pullet of the same breed, but I have been reading that you should not introduce just one. All of our pullets are between 11-13 weeks old. We found a farm who sells birds between the ages of 2-4 months, and they have the breed we want. Since they’re all still young, would it still be as risky to introduce just one to our flock? We have 8 and so far there has been no fighting between them, even though it’s a completely mixed group of size and breed. Would love some advice!

This is a good article on integrating new flock members:

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Is the farm willing to take the cockerel? Can your coop and run support you purchasing two additional pullets after the cockerel has been removed?
The farm does not want him, but there is a person interested in starting a flock with just his breed, so hopefully he comes through and takes our little dude. We have a 10ftx30ft run with two hen houses in it, so I would say yes, we probably could.
