introducing laying age hens to "teenager" flock?

i apologize if this has already been covered, but i cannot use the search feature with my cell phone and i am without a computer at the moment...

we have a mixed flock of 9 teenagers, i say it this way because the chicks were of varying and unknown ages when we got them.

there is a woman who has older hens that she has been free ranging and due to an issue with her neighbor she is now trying to rehome her girls. (long story). given we free range our little ones and the coop is 7 x 17 feet, we thought we could take a few of her hens.

most of the threads i've read are about intergrating young to older pre existing flocks. logically it seems to me it should be smoother to intro the older hens (maybe 3) to the younger pre existing flock, but i would really like to hear from you all!

If you could divide your coop with a fence panel or a piece of lattice. That way the new ones are on one side and the others are on the other side. They can meet each other but can't hurt each other. You can give them the time needed to adjust to each other without the stress and drama!!
