Hello. I have a 2 year old roo he is with 8 hens. I just added a silkie trio (2 year old roo) (10 mo hens) to my flock in a separate coop.
I want them to free range together if possible. Advise on introducing the roos? The coops are currently side by side.

I would let them meet with no hens first, in case they do fight they aren’t fighting over hens, which can get ugly if one of the girls gets involved

What is the breed of your current roo? (Not the silkie).

Usually it's best to start introducing new roos with the "Look don't touch" technique. Set the trio in a coop/cage/run right next to the existing flock. Let them see each other, but not be able to touch each other. Do this for a few days, then try free ranging them all together, maybe with some feed on the ground so you can see how they react to each other upon contact.

Good luck!
