Introducing Myself

Thank you for adding me to this group! I'm new to owning chickens are am currently raising seven that we got when they were one week old from my son's Biology class. They're a mix of breeds and I'm still in the process of figuring out what all of them are. I definitely have one rooster who is very vocal and also pretty friendly. I have two black bantam silkies. It's definitely been a learning process, and I try to make changes to how I keep them as I learn. So far, so good, though. They free range for part of each day and spend the rest of the time in their run and coop. They're only about 3 months old, so we still have some time before they start laying eggs.
