Always wanted chickens! Recently decided next spring was the time and that would give me a year to learn and prep.. Got a call from a friend over a month ago… she was gifted 4 chicks and no way to care for them. Now I have 4 chicks a year ahead of schedule 🤣 very unprepared but they are going on 6 weeks still in the brooder and we are all thriving together. I’ve got a lot going on and have a butt load of kids to be constantly educating myself on proper chicken care and diy coops but despite the stress I really enjoy them and know it will get easier the more I learn 🥰

Welcome! Your chicks look well old enough to be outside. Do you have a coop built yet?
I just drew up the plans yesterday to build a coop out of pallets.. and got all the pallets last week. I have to get my hardware cloth and a few other things in the morning then I get started! We are from central pa and it hasn’t been consistently warm until just recently so I felt I should wait anyways to throw them out lol. Trust me I can’t get this coop built fast enough 🤣 they gotta get out of my office
