I currently have 2 scovies male and female and 1 pekin male, all 1 year old now. The scovies have their own pen so the males never fight or get the chance to anyway. And the pekin is not a loner he goes everywhere with me and sleeps in my room in the house at night. I'm thinking about getting another female for my pekin though, since i came across so money to expand their pens, but if i do i want to get a duckling and raise it my way first then introduce her to the pekin. So my questions are, how old should the duckling be before meeting the pekin, Will i be able to successfully get them to be mates, and What steps do i take when putting them together?

duckling needs to be mating age around 5 months old before living with your Pekin, they will be best mates just introduce slowly since your Pekin comes inside I'd put your duckling inside a very large dog crate and let them get to know each other that way, sleeping in the same room together, etc. then when duckling is a bit more mature give them some time together outside with you handing out treats that way they are focused on eating at first. Don't leave your duckling unattended with your drake though till older.

thanks, yea my greatest fear is my pekin trying to have his way because he is very rough. Could you reccomend a breed for me to get for him? The breeds i'd really like are either another scovy, silver appleyard, ancona, or a runner.

I'd get at least something close to him in size which would be either another Pekin or a Scovy. smaller breeds may have a problem since the Pekin is the drake, if it was the other way around there wouldn't be a problem but smaller females could be injured with heavier drakes.
