Introducing new foods, how soon?

My chicks are 1 week old tomorrow. Can I offer them stuff like chard and greens from the yard, or do I need to wait until they're eating grit?

They're on a finely ground chick starter and seem to be thriving.

You start grit when you start treats. So whenever you feel they are ready for treats, they need grit.
