Introducing older chickens to existing young flock-advise please??

I have 4 5 week old chicks and 3 8 week old chicks. Could I put 2 new 6 month old red stars in with them or is the age difference too great?

The size difference is probably too great. The bigger ones will likely pick/peck(?) on the littler ones. I like to construct a cage within the coop to house the new ones until everyone gets used to one another.
