introducing older chicks to younger chicks

Do you think I will have an issue introducing and older group of chicks to a younger group of chicks? I currently have 6 bantam silkies that are about 4 weeks old now, and I will be getting 15 day old chicks (bantam cochins, japanese, and seabrights) that are coming May 17th from Hoffman Hatchery. I will probably move that Silkies outside before the new group comes, but once the little girls/guys are about 3-4 wks I would like to move them outside, to the same pen. Do you think there will be any issues with bringing the two groups together? They will be in a large (8x13ft) chain link dog pen, with a smaller coop inside to get away from the elements. Any suggestions/thoughts are welcome!

If you're older Silkies are docile, they'll likely be fine. I haven't had much issue mixing younger Silkies with older ones (I only have Silkies and 1 bantam Cochin, so all I have to compare). There might be some pecking, but as long as its not bad and everyone can get away from each other they'll likely be fine. When I addnew juveniles into my adult flock, they don't even bat an eye.
So, I guess it depends really on your Silkies disposition. One thing that'll be in favor of the newer chicks will be numbers. So at least if there is pecking, it'll be spread around amongst them. Good luck with all of your new peepers!
