Greetings all!
We are new to having chickens. We bought 4 Barred Rocks from a local feed store when they were about a week old-which would make them about 5 wk old now. We were told to expect to lose 1 or 2 but hasn't happened so we're pretty pleased about that. They are getting big fast and have quite the personality.
When I say "we" it includes my wife, 2 daughters aged 4 and 2 yr old and our 6 mo old son. We also have a pug, a maltese, a cockatiel, 3 siamese mix cats, box turtle, sulcata tortoise, and greek tortoise. We moved to Manatee Co., FL (South end of Tampa Bay) about a year ago from the SF Bay Area of CA.
I was up all night looking over BYC and decided I needed to set up a profile 'cause A) There are some really cool people on here and B) I have questions-lots n lots of questions
