Helen went into hard labor around 11:00 this morning. She is the doe who mispresented last year - we lost her kid and nearly lost her, too. She had some adhesions from that battle...as her bag of waters came out, her vagina was clearly not opening. I had to stretch her manually as the bag presented, and after about 5 minutes I finally had a hole large enough for it to progress. As things went on, she gave two hefty pushes and before I could do anything...I had a head and ONE leg. So, I took what I had and pulled with her contractions.

Percie came out on the 4th pull!

He is a beautiful broken black roan agouti! Oreo is his sire...

Helen loves my DD, who just went out to check on them with me again...DD bent down at her head and told her "you did a great job Helen!" So sweet.

Thanks, all, for the compliments. I will have to post some fluffy pics either tonight or tomorrow. The drier he gets, the more handsom he gets! I wish I could keep him!
