New to chicken raising, I recently lost my beautiful RIR roo after loaning him out to an elderly neighbor for servicing his hens. In hindsight, should have realized this wasn't safe and he would be exposed to potential disease. Kicking myself! Now I want to introduce a new "teen" roo to my coop, but am worried about bringing disease in to my hens. Would Medicated water protect them?How long? Or should I give them all medicated feed for a while? They're 3 months old so not egg-laying for a few more weeks. Help!
