This the latest I have ever let a hen hatch by over a month.
This is Pigie. She is a bantam white cochin. She had 9 eggs and now has 7 little ones. The eggs are from my Bantam Faverolle Hen, but obviously my Dutch Roo had managed to "hit the mark" at few times. Right now 4 of the babies look like pure Faverolles. 2 actually look like pure dutch. I don't think I could have messed on eggs and set 2 actual Dutch eggs. The third is the little Dutch colored one, but yellowish. It was a hiding in the back of the crate, but you can see it some around it's momma. It has some feathering on it's feet and has the fifth toe of a fav.
Picture 1 and 2 are of the babies while Pigie's nest was out of the crate being replaced. The third has the nest back in there and all the babies hiding. Pigie is extremely tame and lets me handle her babies.
