Introducing turkey to chickens

Sorry to hear about the little guy! He was super cute. I'm just jumping in to second the motion on Royal Palms! With my limited poultry experience, my palms are some of my favourite personalities! My Jake's are attentive and friendly and the Jenny's are just so sweet. Two of them will come in for hugs when I sit down in the coop with them and if I don't get up in time they WILL fall asleep on my lap, I've converted cat law to turkey law.
My guys are only 11 weeks now but their feathering is strikingly beautiful!!

I dont, it was my second year in 4H so a long time ago. But we also didn't know about meat birds a lot. We were just told to 'make him as big as you can before fair and let him eat as much as he wants and to not let him excerise it all off'.

Probably a hybrid meat breed, meant to be processed sooner rather than later.
Have seen folks buy these poults in the spring and they are too big to fit in the oven by thanksgiving.

Yeah, he was the white meat variety. We had him early April through the beginning ofnnovemeber before we butchered since we didn't know he had a timeline. Could still walk, but he ran out of breath going up a ten foot gentle slope
