I never introduced myself as I couldn't figure out how to do this, sorry!
I have had chickens for about 8 years, always about 4-8.
I have never had problems with pecking orders and all my hens (knock on wood) have always gotten along which has surprised me as I've chosen many different types of hens, though they have always been around the same size.
I currently have a light brama, a silver laced wyandotte, an americauna, and a black orpington. I have just added 3 baby chicks to my broody orpington, a polish, swedish flower, and cream legbar

We back up to open space and so I have to be extremely careful about my hens and we've had a few accidents over the years...but I'm learning. My girls bring me so much joy! Began doing this when my two kids were home and now they are out of the house and they really miss our chickens and chicken life! Such a great thing to do with kids!

I'm a community college English and ESL teacher and my students love all my chicken stories.
I love camping and sing on and off in local choirs.
This is a fabulous site!
