Hello! Call me Skylexa! I'm a new chicken owner (I got them a few months ago), so I've been needing a place to find good advice. Some of the questions I have are too complicated to search in Google, so hopefully this community will help me
We have seven chickens right now. Six hens, one rooster. We never actually wanted to have a rooster, but the TSC employee gave us one, so....
Don't worry, we'll expand the flock and chicken run eventually. Fortunately he isn't mature enough to breed yet.
We have three Plymouth Rocks, two Rhode Island Reds, and one Easter Egger hen. The rooster is also an EE (he's not that bad of a boy so far, no worries).
I like how goofy chickens are (especially the Plymouth Rocks). They all have individual personalities which we've grown to love, even the dumb rooster Bob.
Besides homesteading, some of my other hobbies are drawing, writing, painting, and gaming. I love all things art haha
We also have 4 cats and 3 dogs here. So in total, counting the chickens, we have 14 pets. In the future we might be getting ducks, goats, a bearded dragon, and more chickens.
That's all! See y'all in future posts
