I am R.j. from Myakka City, Florida and I plan on raising chickens in the near future.

(1) I am very new to chickens, but I want to build/assemble/buy a coop first, then populate the coop. I figure this will give me time to become a little more enlighten for the care and feeding of chickens. I know I wan eggs, but not sure about the meat portion just yet.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

Zero

(3) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

You Tube

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Bees

Welcome to Backyard Chickens!:frow Glad you joined the flock! BYC is a very helpful and informative about poultry! Please update us when you get your chickens! We would love to see pictures! Its better to read about breeds first and their characteristics and purposes before purchasing just any. Chickens breeds are a lot different than others especially when you are looking for a meat chicken or egg layer. Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!
