Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been a chicken owner for 2 1/2 years. We raise for eggs. Tried meat chickens 2 summers ago - not for us. We love our hens and enjoy having them free-ranging on our property. We added new layer chicks this past May and got surprised with a rooster. He does a good job watching over "his" flock. We built a beautiful, very labor intensive coop this May-July for our flock with an attached, enclosed run for winter. It seems to be working out well. We enjoy sharing our organic eggs with close friends and family as we can't eat all that our hens produce.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
