Hi all! My names Melissa and I’m from New York!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I am sort of new to chickens. I grew up with chickens my preteen and some of my teen hood but now I’m an adult so decided to get chickens of my own!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 10 chickens, ages 2 wks to 4wks
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have Easter eggers and mottled Cochin bantams
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? They super fascinating to watch as they explore and cluck around
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Some of my other hobbies include yard work, Brazilian jiu jitsu and bicycling.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
i am a caretaker for my grandmother who my boyfriend and I live with, I’m a full time student and navy veteran. I have three dogs: honey who is a 7 month old field golden, Harley who is a 5 year old German workingline GSD and Ellie a 7 year old husked shepherd mix.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I was looking all over for realistic first hand information on chickens and wanted to dive in!
