My family had chickens when I grew up in Texas, and since moving to Oregon I've recently started keeping them again in the past few years. I am just starting up a new chicken breeding project in 2022 after moving to a new home. I currently work from home with 4 dogs, so I'm lucky to be able to spend a lot of time with my critters.

I currently have 8 Barnevelder hens and 2 Sumatra roosters, which I hope after a few generations will produce some very cool exotic-looking chickens that lay well and would make decent meat birds too.

I've referenced the BYC forums for a long time, but want to be able to post and participate in discussions now.
