(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Myself and my husband have had chickens for a shot time, since November 2020.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 6 chickens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
3 silkie bantams (klaus, Vanya, Boris… yes I know we have boys names
)
1 Wyandotte bantam (Beth)
1 pekin bantams (lady grey)
2 seabrights bantams (Kendall and Kylie… I know very cheesy but if you know seabrights you will understand the name choices)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
They are full of character and intelligent, we love sitting in the garden and watching them. Fresh eggs are of course a bonus.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
My husband is a gym guy, and I am a workaholic so not time for any other hobbies.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
It is me and my husband at home, with our chickens, 4 dogs called Kez, Milo, Dizzy and Winston. We also have a snake called Perry and a hamster called Sid. We have a 22 year old son who is in university and lives in student accommodation.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I’m always using the BYC for advice and think it’s about time I join!
