Hello Everyone, I got a total of six (6) chicks from a Breeder. Three Speckled Sussex and three Swedish Flower hens. My parents used to have Kelso Breed hens and Roosters on their farm so they are mostly Familiar with those breeds. That means this will be our first experience with those two breeds. So far I am enjoying the experience of seeing these two breeds grow and change. Unfortunately, none of our chicks were sexed so we do not know what sex they might be. I am also a musician which I keep as my side hobby. We have dogs, cats, a ferret and now chicks. I am a Home Health aide which is my main occupation. Right now my parents are retired which is why we decided to have chickens once more. I found this group seeing if I can compare pictures of other chicks and be able to tell the sex lol and that's mostly what made me join. I will attach pictures of our babies :) The First three are my Swedish Flower hens and the last three are my Speckled Sussex 🥰 They hatched on September 8th, 2022

Welcome to BYC!! Your pullets are so pretty!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :welcome
All Swedish Flower Hens are pullets.
For the Speckled Sussex's you have one cockerel for sure, one is a pullet, and one could be either, you'll have to give that one a couple of weeks.
Thank you! I thought so as well that my Swedish might be pullets, only because I didn't see a big comb but then again I am not familiar with the breed so I was just hoping lol. I think I know which one you're 50/50 on the speckled. Hopefully it's a hen 🙏🏻
