Hi! I am new to the world of chickens and BYC, so I thought I'd introduce myself. I just got my first baby chicks on Tuesday; five Barred Plymouth Rocks, one Delaware, one Red Star, one Golden Lace Wynadotte, two Silver Lace Wynadottes, and one white Silkie. I am expecting more chicks on this coming Tuesday (via mail): three Buff Orpingtons, three more white Silkies, and two Easter Eggers which will complete my flock of 19 total baby chickies! I am so excited to have chickens! So far it has been fun! I have been doing my research for a while now on chickens, care, brooders, coops, ect., and I have learned quite a bit just from reading the BYC forum. (I've also ready my share of books too). Besides chickens, I also have two miniature horses, two dogs: a Yellow Lab and a rescued Sheltie Mix, and two cats. I guess you could say animals are a passion of mine. I am a stay at home mom, and I have two wonderful children, ages 6 and 3, and one incredibly supportive husband!
