Introductions chicks to 3 month olds?

How do I introduce my chicks to 3 month old silkies? The chicks are to hatch Oct 8th. What age should they be before they go to the coop/run?

I've heard several theories on here. Here are a couple I remember off the top of my head:

1. Can introduce them gradually when they are all the same size.
2. Can introduce when the little ones dont sound like babies anymore. (when they are making grown hen sounds instead of the little cheeps.)

There are many methods to introducing them when you feel the time is right. Best way to figure out which is best IMHO is search using the custom Google search box in the upper right corner of this page. I'd search something like "how to integrate chicks?".
