Hello ya'll! Would love some input, I have 4 5 week old buff orpingtons, and a 2 week old barred, and a 2 week old EE. They all live together and are super happy and healthy. I introduced the younger 2 to the buffs when they were just a few days old, and the buffs were 3 weeks, and they took to them very well immediatly, on both sides, now I'm wanting to expand my flock on account of my coop size, and love of chickens (I've had many growing up, and looooove them) my chicken supplier is getting some NH reds pullets tomorrow, and I was wanting to bring home 6 to introduce to my girls and see if they can all get along. Any thoughts?
 
How old will the NH be? If they are day old you should keep them seperate. Ideally they should be seperate but able to see, hear, each other. Such as a cage. This way the littles can grow, eat, have heat, and not be molested by your bigs. Then in several weeks, when the littles no longer need the heat, you should be able to combine them with minimal fighting.
 
@OrganicFarmWife The NH hatched just a few days back, so the will still be just little buggers, so that's what I'm starting to lean toward I think. I was probably pushing back when I introduced my EE and BR to my buffs, and just got really lucky the were such great friends off the bat. Thanks a lot for your help
 
Well no when they are little chicks, still needing heat, it is easy to introduce new chicks. The thing is now you have "teenage" chicks (They are still growing, still not mature but no longer require so much attention and protection) and bringing in little babies. The teenager chicks will bully your littles and the littles will be very vulnerable. Keep them seperate at least 3weeks maybe 4, by then your little will be much better able to handle the pecking order.
