Hi all, I lost one of my beloved silkies last week which left her friend on her own.
I have since found one silkie which I’m hoping to get next weekend.
I was wanting to get another so I have three in total. I was hoping to get them from two different places and introduce all of the chickens at the same time.
I figured it was best that none of them were bonded. I’m particularly concerned about Kizzy who is my original chicken which is why I’m looking to get a separate pair.
Someone however, told me it would be best to get a pair that already know each other as I’m introducing them to a new place!
I’m now very confused. I have the chance to pick up another one at the weekend so could potentially bring a bonded pair home.
I could also get another separate one around the same time. What’s the best option please??
And how long do they need to keep separated for? I have a portable run I am putting in the main run that Kizzy is in so they can see each other.
Many thanks.
